Y'all are better than me - woke up at 5, checked weather and went back to bed.

I don't like using the thermacell when bow hunting - just too hot in NELA to get it done today. My duck season is a bust this split - waiting for second split.

Duck season has been tough so far in ne la and se ar. A few buddies had some hot fields opening weekend but since they blew those teal and Greys out everybody I've talked to has been struggling. Need some more weather.

Damn. I think I just missed a nice buck. Got nervous and rushed the shot and at the last minute he turned away from me. Bout to get down and go look. Hoping for blood.

Hope you find blood. Just had some M&M's. That's been the highlight of my deer hunt thus far.

Dam big arse coyote that I shot. Was crossing a open bottom with about 3' of water. Sucker laid out on the shot. Only had knee boots on and wasn't about to get a wet arse.

Nothing else after that. Called it a early hunt.

Saw tons of wood ducks Wednesday morning. Woke up at 3am to go back today for the opener. People in my first 3 choices. Ended up in some nice timber, but the ducks didn't want in where I was.
I am waiting for some weather.

Haven't even seen a bushy tail yet. Today might be an early beer drinking day.

Clean miss. But when I went to look I noticed he was coming out to check a scrape. Back at the camp now. Gonna sit the same stand this evening.

Simsboro, La
72 deg with a south wind
Box stand on a pipeline looking for a good buck to cross.
I just carried a 50# bag of rice bran 1/2 mile to dump out so my 11 year old will have a good chance at a deer this weekend.
Needless to say, I'm sweating like a whore in church.

Back at it in R-Kansas

Last hunt of the break, then it's back to MS and my normal hunting habitat. Haven't seen anything today and it's hotter than a sum bitch.

Good luck to those making the evening hunt.

Had a strong spoon shoot this morning with TheGreat318 and 2 of his podnahs.

7 Horrywoods and 2 teal.

A few mallards in the vicintiy but skittish like it was the last week in January or something

Deacon, I have never seen wasps like this. They are dive bombing into this stand only to be killed off 1 by 1. It's ridiculous!

Back at it again also. Same stand as this morning.

Got the 6yr old with me this afternoon, it's our first hunt together. Hoping he gets to get a shot on one!

Back at it but in a different stand. Way too hot. Remember when it was below freezing less than a week ago?
