Thought it was a yote for sure until I saw the comparison picture. Sure looks a lot more like the wolf than the yote in that.

The tail and proportions are wrong for a yote.

More likely his tramp mama goin' cross-species, but I wouldn't rule out a red.

I showed this to my buddy who is a federal game warden, he confirmed it is a Red Wolf. He also said they have a breeding facility on an island in FL and have done some releases in NC. Still that dude is way down south for his kind.
