Great info. We have trapped, shot, and stabbed over 1200 hogs on our 1400 acres just in the last 3 years. FWIW, the box style traps with root doors are the most effective way to catch them.



The doors allow multiple hogs to enter over the 24 hour period between checks. We have caught up to 7 adults and twice that number of smalls in one trap.

These traps are highly portable and one man can easily handle them on and off a trailer.

Do not allow people to take live hogs "to fatten up" or "train their dogs" from your property. They are just removing them to release somewhere else, and the problem just grows and grows.

Kill em all.

You have to move your traps, change your bait, or kill the matriarch sow that is keeping the others out of the trap.


Sometimes a Mineral block in the trap with the door wired open until you see activity helps.
