I've missed plenty, but I've also missed a deer, but killed one that I wasn't aiming at

I shot at a deer 6 times once and hit it twice. First shot and last shot hit it. Is that considered a miss?

Keep at it. Missed my first one (with a rifle) last year. It was 500 yards, but still.

I forgot about my third miss. It was with a recurve bow. Two young bucks in the piney woods and I hit a pine branch. I don't know what impressed me most: how loud an aluminum arrow can clank on wood or how high deer can jump when they have the shite scared out of em.
Never got another shot with the bow and it is 20 years old. Quit trying. Rifles work moe bettah.

Tried a 320 yd shot last day of the season with a 30-06 150 grain bullet. I shot right over her.

I've never missed with my rifle.
Missed twice with my bow, the same deer.
that was my first attempt with my bow and I had been hunting all year and this was the first chance I had gotten, I was so trigger happy I would have shot if he was 70 yrds away. Was more like 45, but man I was embarassed for myself

Don't forget to zero your rifle. If it's off you won't hit a deer at 50 yards, much less 500.

What animal did you miss at 500 yards, a mule deer?

If you hunted as long as I did, you're going to miss sooner or later.

So, yes, I had clean misses. What is sick is putting a bad shot in and loosing a deer just to find it a couple days later.

That has happen twice in my life time in over two hundred deer+.

I shot one 5 times and hit it all 5 shots. Dam thing didn't want to stay down. I'm sure the bullets had hit some very small trees and thick brush do to impact areas that were hit.

Was a real nice 13 pointer, very big deer.

Missed my first one last year. Pretty damn big buck. Shirt tail was not cut, but that was a bad night to be a bud light. I had pretty much convinced myself that id go my whole life without missing

I've missed three, first one was on a running doe infront of a dog, second was because my scope had gotten bumped off about 12" to the left, third was just my fault, clean miss on 200yd shot. I think I jerked the trigger. All of those were with a rifle. So far I haven't let an arrow fly to even miss one yet.

I have killed a pretty good number of deer since i started rifle hunting. I will say as a bird hunter the hardest thing to do is making yourself squeeze intead of pull. It took me missing a monster Axis in Tejas one time to never jerk on the trigger. So yes i have missed plenty deer either from being too excited or all sauced up.

Of course I have, but the a-hole holding the light wouldn't keep it still.

8 for 9. 1st deer hunt and only deer I missed I was 11 years old hunting with my paw paw. I was shooting a savage .410 pump, using slugs. Doe came out, put he front bb sight on her and shot. No blood and she ran.

After that hunt my paw paw gave me his Remington Woods Master 30-06. Never missed a deer since. Its been over 20 plus years and still hunt with it, with the same generic camo scope that was mounted on it in the 80's.

I miss my paw paw.
