That is exactly what I shoot except I have a Leupold scope.

Tikka t3 lite 7mm with 4.5x14x50 zeiss
In the process of ordering a b&c medalist drop in stock because that's the only thing I don't like about it and that's strictly cosmetic. The rifle itself shoots better than any other hunting rifle I own.

Browning and Weatherby put no 1 MOA accuracy guarantee on their rifles.

Get yourself a TIkka T3 in 270wsm. Great Rifle.
Scope options:
Ziess
Nikon Monarch
Sightron (best kept secret).

Spend the rest on ammo.

OPTION 2. Get the gun but in 308. Ammo will be easier to find.

Option 3. Go 308.....buy the FNAR. Same accuracy guarantee, yet it comes from a semiauto rifle. It's sick!!

Always start with the glass and back into your rifle.

Swarovski Z3 4-12x50 BT - Plex

That leaves you with $1000 for the rifle, so I would go with the Browning X-Bolt Medallion in .270WSM. You should be able to get into that for just south of a grand and have just enough left over for bases.

Weatherby® Vanguard® Series 2 rifles are guaranteed to shoot a 3-shot group of .99" or less at 100 yards (SUB-MOA) when used with specified Weatherby® factory or premium ammunition.

Go get a 7mag with a Nikon. It'll be around $1000 and you'll never have a problem.

I can't find any details on the difference between the Series 2 Deluxe and a Mark V. It looks like Weatherby put the upgraded stock and blue job on the S2 Deluxe?

There aren't any differences really other then the price tag.

Thx. I found a .257 WBY S2 at a decent price. It is not the Deluxe model though.

It's a good gun. You'll be pleased with its performance.

It's an awesome round. I've read but don't have proof that it was Roy Weatherby's favorite caliber.

For the size of the cartridge the recoil isn't bad at all.

Is it ballisticly similar to the .270 WIN?
