Are you talking about a coachwhip? they have whip-like tails.

The only one I know of with a red belly is a mud snake. They pretty much go limp when you pick them up.

I agree. But I hope your not comparing that to OP killing a fricking snake by his back door.

Honestly, yellow bellied water snakes are some mean frickers and they stink like shite. I usually let the good guys go but that one would probably get a boot to the dome.

Wait just a pea-pickin' minute.

I'm not for killing critters (even snakes and contrary MILs) for no reason, but if a snake strikes at me, on my own patio, it's gonna be graveyard dead.

I've got two old dogs and a wife and a daughter that I don't want to get bit by an ornery, territorial, pissant snake.

How many people do you know that have ever been bitten by any snake they weren't fricking with?

What is the name of the snake that whips you with its tail.

So, basically, you've seen a snake that has a pointy tail?

I don't know which snake you're talking about. I think quite a few have the point you're talking about. It's not a stinger and can't hurt you in any way. And they won't whip you with their tails either.

Left out harmless.....and the territorial one isn't the one that slithers.

I got home from work yesterday and my wife said there was a 7 foot long snake on the front porch earlier, wrapped around a pillar on the porch. My 13 year old son already had it ID'd by the time I got home. I searched but couldn't find it. Told a neighbor if he has a 7 foot long Black Rat snake in his yard not to kill it but to call me and I'll relocate it......to my back yard. I didn't tell him the last part.

Do y'all have any indigos out there?

I found the snake and its a mud snake. My old man always told me they could hit you with the tail so I never messed with them. But I see they are harmless as dirt dobbers.

this hand is about to be pierced with deadly venom.

Mud snake. You cannot make them bite. They eat "Congo Eels". Amphuimas or whatever.

A snake killed our camp cat. Guilty by association. They all die.

Gotcha. My kids cat had it treed in the rim of my truck. It was pretty funny. But you're right I couldn't make it bite or run away for that matter. It just kinda wiggled around like a moron. Fwiw I slung it out in the pasture unharmed...
