True, I suppose it's a bit of a sticker shock, especially for a brand you don't really seem much around here. $2800 would put it about middle of the road for pedal kayaks.

Eh, maybe, but not really.

Huk's marketing is very YETI-ish. However, I've seen Huk shite on a sale rack. Buying something for what I believe it's worth (i.e. - when it's on a sale rack) is very un-YETI-ish.

Good to know. Now, is there anything unique about the stuff, or is it just a heavily promoted product that is basically the same as Under Armour or Magellan?

Where else are you gonna find a sweet mix of your parents old wallpaper pattern from the 80's and a reptilian skin pattern on the same, microfiber'ed shirt?

Nah there's nothing unique as long as you don't care about being COMPLETELY INVISIBLE TO FISH

Dark colors in the South, made for warm weather. No thanks.

Not much of a difference in Columbia, Under Armour, and Huk, price wise...

OB is 2350, Slayer 13 is 2600. Don't see them coming in higher and taking much of the market.

their tshirts are awesome...and are around $20. Their long sleeve fishing shirts are a bit overpriced

Fair enough.

In other news, the new cabelas kayak looks pretty good too for around $1k.

A lot of the fishing kayaks are barges now. Anything less than 80# is light for the stable SOTs with the lawn chair seats (your slayer 12 being the exception, not the rule).

I don't think it's too big of an issue for what most people are looking to do with it. Native has done an exceptional job of minimizing weight on their boats though.

All true, and I think Native is fudging big time on the listed weights.

I dont think the listed weights include the seat. I know Jackson is notorious for not including seat weight.

This would not surprise me, my Slayer 14.5 is listed at 75lb, my Cuda 14 at 76(82 w/ seat). There's absolutely no doubt the Slayer is heavier than my Cuda by 10-15lb.

My friend said it's the "centipede" lure, or they should have called it the ATM minnow, arse to mouth
