I see reels discussed in terms of 1000, 2000, and so on.

Can someone give me a simple explanation of this?

Thanks.

It's the size of the reel. Only talking about spinning reels

1000 is the smallest. lowest line capacity
10000 is the largest.

After looking 10000 is not the largest. Looks like there is a 30000 Stella.

It's the size of the reel. 1000 would be like ultra light 6 lb line, 2000-2500, 8lb, 3000, 10lb-12, and so on.

What do you catch with a 10000? ETA: 30000?

I use 2000 series inshore (w/ braid), I recently went up to a 3000 and I feel that it's too much reel.

Got an old Shimano Spirex 500, it'll sling the hell out of a beetle spin.

AYC 3000 is just right. Anything from school trout to Bull Reds, it's got you covered.
