I have seen this buck a couple of times but wanted your thoughts, I originally thought this was a 4-5 year old deer but seeing a few new pics of it has me rethinking it. So without looking at the rack what do you think age wise, trying to decide if he should walk if I'm tough enough to let him walk. I've laid eyes on him twice in the last week and is decent body size but none of the sway back/gut I normally look for. After a few guessed I'll put pics with rack up and see if it sways your thoughts.

Based on mass at skull and shorter nose I am going to say 3

I suck at this but he has a very short face, and looks young in the body. I'm gonna say a late drop two year old just to see how it lines up with the rest of the thread.

Why you crop out the antlers? ETA - didn't read the whole post.

Based on the neckline only, 3.5.

body looks 3/3.5. mass on rack is intriguing but could be a spike for all we know!

Really hard to tell with that pic but I'd guess 2.5 only because

Could definitely cloud my judgement.

Because the antlers are really swaying me to say older, if he is 3 I want to see what he looks like next year. But he is making it tough. I wanted to see others thoughts.

You mean early drop, and I agree, possibly early drop two year old, but more likely a three year old.

So would most say that I should probably let him walk for at least another year?

That's a completely different question. If you have plenty of land and you feel confident he'll make it to next year, let him walk.

At my lease however, my goal is a 3 year old or older.

Well I'll try to let him walk, however if he messes around to much I'm not sure I'll restrain myself. Really curious what another year will do for him.
