I have the entire afternoon to go chase things with my hawk. Wish me luck.

Do you let the hawk eat some of what it catches, or do you take all of the good stuff and feed it a bag of bird seed?

OB was already promised hoist pics earlier today and we were left empty-handed.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, won't get fooled again.

This...promised me 50lb drum hoist pics at 4:30am and then went to sleep I guess.

Happy hunting!

Sorry.

We've been killing something just about every time we go out. I usually only have about an hour and a half or so to hunt. I had all afternoon today. Before leaving, I thought, "I may try for our first triple today." I should have thought, "Damn, I hope we catch something." After 3 1/2 or 4 hours of solid hunting/beating through the brush, the hawk and I were both exhausted. Had lots of chances, just didn't connect. I am sorry and ashamed.

To help make up for it, here's a pic from yesterday:

No need to apologize. Hawks get a pass. Every time.

What's the purpose of that helmet and why does the top look like one of those ancient Chinese helmets?
