I started a thread a month or so back along about the P220 and in the comments a lot of you recommended the P226...well I finally got around to going to the store and checking it out. It felt perfect in my hand...I loved it. I looked at all the reviews and they said it was an excellent gun. I went and bought it Monday and it just got cleared by the Feds for pick up so I'm waiting on my grandmother to get back from vacation to pick it up. She was the one who it will be entitled to until I turn 21! Thank yall so much for all the advice!

I went with the little brother p228. Love both of them. Had a hard time choosing only one. Never had a failure to feed, fire, or eject out of thousands of round.

I have two of them. They are an awesome weapon.

I am pretty sure the p226 won the OB all time greatest pistol contest.

I have an older non-rail P226 in .40. In any caliber, it is a wonderful shooting pistol.

How does this work? If you're not 21 but still bought the gun, and grandma has to pick it up, what am I missing. Isn't something federally wrong here?

shes bought it with her own money and I'm paying her back in cash. It's under her name but I can legally be in possession of a handgun I just can't buy it from a first hand dealer yet...I can goto a gun show and buy one but I don't want to do that. So like I say when I turn 21 in January I'll just get it transferred to my name. As far as I now it's all perfectly legal

Anyway frick the Feds

I think your grandmother just committed a straw purchase and both of you are going to jail.

I love that fricking pistol.

Nothing wrong with what you did. Granny buys a gun. Sells it to you because she just decides she does not like the way it shoots.

What do you mean you will transfer it to your name? Why?

Leave it as is. You own nothing

Except for the fact that he told us it isn't granny's gun. It never was going to be granny's gun. And that granny only bought it because he's too young to buy it. I think there might be a little issue here. I'm no law expert so I'll defer.

Yup, OP should edit post to just say his grandma is gifting him the gun or she just didnt like it.

But either way, Congrats. The P226 is hands down my favorite handgun.
