Most field bred goldens are bred with shorter coats for that reason specifically. Long hair gets nappy, catches on everything, and gets everyone within a 15 foot radius wet ha.

eta: this is about as long as mine gets, and it still aggravates me.

My friends have multiple goldens from there. They are way too damn expensive imo, and all have needed different surgeries I'm pretty sure (pure-bred problems). I would never get one, but they sure are damn good looking dogs. If you have the money go for it.

No real input on your question, but I went to the website and good god the price for those dogs is high, at least IMO.

I'm picking up a Goldendoodle for my gf in a couple of weeks and I thought they were high, but HF takes that award.

That's a fine dog. Pretty much same exact color and hair length as mine.

Thanks bluemoons pretty pup and great pic. I'm excited to get the pup. The black lab is 3 and seems to be getting a lot more laid back maybe a puppy will keep him from getting too bored

Except for the mystery disease these possibilities come with every golden retriever breeder in the world

My golden that hunts. He's not winning any ribbons any time soon, and I blame it all on his lackluster trainer (me). But he picks up/finds almost every duck we put down.

We have a Golden Doodle we bought from Hunnington Farms located in Covington, LA. He got diagnosed with acute leukemia this past Saturday. He was born in November 2018. He is only a year and a half. I have learned that most leukemia develops from a mutation in the bone marrow. Stu, our dogs name, is one of the family and we are all devastated. I contacted the breeder and they abruptly said they have never had this happen. They were dismissive and lacked sympathy. They quickly got off the phone with me. It wasn't until I started to cry before we hung up that she said she was sorry. I have since learned of another Golden Doodle who recently died of Leukemia. This dog was under three years of age. This dog was also bought from Hunnington Farms. I am in the process of contacting this dog owner. They are constantly inbreeding their dogs. If you pay attention to the website over time, you will see that this is true. I would caution anyone considering buying a dog from Hunnington Farms. They are overpriced and you can draw your own conclusion about what else they are. We are heartbroken!

Our dog is now 3 and is the kindest dog I’ve ever been around. He’s also brilliant and can learn commands in a few minutes. What were the names of the parents of your dog?

ETA: I see yours was a golden doodle. Ours is an English cream golden.

Aubergine Goldens - They have a litter planned and taking reservations now.

Amanda was great to work with and there is a little bit of an owner eval before they agree to let you purchase one. My pup is a year and a half now and he is so smart and loving. There is also a private FB page of previous and current dog owners. People mainly post pictures of their dogs, but I keep a look out for health problem too and have not seen any.
