Would be fun to try.. I think they make getting food alot harder that it should be considering what they get to bring with then and knowing ahead of time where they are going..

I'd actually like to give something like that a shot. As long as I'm never in a desert. I don't think I'd fare well in a desert. Never been one...

So if they are all alone how are they going to charge those cameras?

I would pay $500,000 just to be alone.

Been watching all season, really like the show. They aren't in Alaska by the way, they are on Vancouver island, right at the Canada, Washington state border.
Not sure why no one has tried to kill a land animal other than that one dude who got a mouse. They have bow and arrows, I'd think they'd try and get something a little bigger. Its starting to freeze so they should be able to save meat if they can't eat it all in one sitting.
Dude with the fish traps is a boss, he's gonna win.
I think I'd do ok, I would really like to try something similar. They do have all kinds of random knowledge I don't have but I like to think I'd be able to figure it out, considering I would have nothing else to do.

Not sure of the end rule but I would hope they would not tell the last guy that he is the last guy and he just won.
I like the 40 year old guy with the beard. He seems to do well
The kid is also good. He seemd to go in with a IDGAF attitude and it seems to be paying off.

The isolation and wet/cold would do me in. A week at the most.

I would love to try. In fact I filled out an application for the next season and have moved along with additional followup.
This season is Vancouver Island not Alaska.
I would think I could survive anywhere except jungle/desert for at least 4-6 weeks and after that it would depend on my mental state.
I think the older guy will end up winning this season. The young guy has a good chance also but he always talks about missing his pregnant wife.

Being on Vancouver Island, not far from one of Canada's largest cities, I think they'd have no problems.
There's enough in nature there to eat/drink to sustain a man for a long time, and the climate is relatively mild. Anyone with reasonable outdoor skills could do it if they had the mindset.

I've been watching since the show started and I feel pretty confident I would have lasted longer than most of the guys there. Some of the guys seem like complete wussies and I'm not even sure how they got selected. The guy that checked out after he lost his fire starter had no business even being on the show. Seems like most everyone had some sort of an emotional crisis very early on too. I can see how being alone and secluded can do that, but not after just a couple days.

It comes down to mental state. Are you mentally tough enough to withstand the isolation. I would think with those guys only so few miles apart, they would find each other at one point. Maybe they just edit that part out. I think I'd do fine on the show, but you never really know til you get out there. I'd like to try it on my own for sure. It looks like fun, you know, in a twisted self torturing way.

I'd love to try. I really enjoy the show.
Admittedly, the wolves and 1,900 mountain lion on the island would make me nervous. I've been around bear most of my life between the Sierra Nevadas and the Smoky Mtns. A little bit of exposure with cougars, but nothing close to the density that's on that island . Zero exposure to wolves.
I think it comes down to the guy from GA or the lumber jack with the raft from Iowa. I'm pulling for either to win. The guy from GA seems to be the most mentally strong though and I think that ends up being the deciding factor.

Awesome achievement. 2 of my nephews became Eagle Scouts this year. I wish I would have stuck with it.

Never been to Alaska. I'd want to live there 2 years or similar environment prior, and I think I could handle it.
