I wish I could disable this in my wife's van as well. The only way I've been able to trick it is put the transmission in neutral, then back into drive. But if we're just moving it into or out of the garage, or driving across a parking lot, that thing will start the annoying chiming and will go on for about a minute.

I just love how erryone should use a climbing harness and life preserver which are not subject of a mandatory law, yet seatbelts are optional.

You always follow the law? Every one? A seatbelt ticket is what...$20?

I usually try to follow the ones that keep me from dying.

Of course, I am the type of person that doesn't need a law to keep me from being an idiot . . . most of the time.

Do you use a life preserver in the tub?

How about a climbing harness sitting a chair?

Do you think you're making a point by asking this?

Am I required to wear a searbelt on private property operating a vehicle at low speeds?

Oh noz you are going to die unless the chime keeps going off in your ear to remind you to buckle your seatbelt at anything above 0mph!!!!

You have a mental disability don't you. It's not fair to the board that you do not disclose this.

I don't need to wear a seatbelt if I am riding around a field in my truck at 5 MPH.

And to be fair, I wear a seatbelt in that situation too. Hit a rut or a log and slam your head against the window even at 5 mph. It ain't fun.

But you do you. I ain't here to judge.

My point is there are situations where the wearing of a seatbelt serves no benefit and is not required by law. Those of us who recognize this might not want a chime blaring in our ears every 6 seconds.

What year is yours? I did it on my 05 Tahoe, and have also done it on my 04 2500hd

The only time I wear a seat belt is when I see a cop checking for them

I disabled the seat belt dinger in both of my Tacomas, the F250, the Tahoe, and my new truck doesn't have one (just a light that flashes for 30 seconds)
