I don't get it. Why not blame the 16 yr old? Why does someone else have to put up with a seat belt chime because others are too stupid to remember to wear one?
I guess I just don't understand that mentality. The idea that some things should be imposed on others for the sole reason of protecting people from themselves.
To each his own, I guess...
*edit* I think we can probably agree on the fact that there are times where a seatbelt, as odd as it may sound, is not desirable. One that jumps out at me is backing a boat down a ramp. It sounds silly but panic can be crippling to some making the even the simplest of tasks nearly impossible.

not blaming anyone, but at 16, kids feel invincible, and don't have enough life experience to protect themselves. i have three daughters, and spend a bunch of time worrying about their safety. one absolutely will not put on the seatbelt until i stop the car and gripe at her.
so, i want the chime to be permanently working.

Bean Ridge?
That's that little hairy area of flesh between the testicles and anus on men. On unsanitary men it tends to collect little shite beans (aka dingle berrys)in the hair. Thus Bean Ridge.

ALL I ASKED was how to defeat the fricking chimes on the seat belts and door locks.
"Mung" the fricking Bean Ridge, suggested I should just wear my fricking seat belt. I didn't ask should I wear seat belts. I know the answer to that question but I didn't ask that question.
Why don't you try buckling the seat belt before sitting in the seat, and then shutting up?

Have you lived in America long?

I've honestly never heard that called a bean ridge in my entire life, and I refer to that area of the body frequently.

So I assume none of you ride in the backs of trucks at camp or to a dove field? Or on older tractors? Or on trailers? We have established that a vehicle going more than 0mph is deadly without being buckled in.

FYI - Please buckle me in when I am riding around inside your head.

go to the dealership and ask the parts guy for a seatbelt extender. Should be free - at least they use to be. Or you can order one on line - but one from the dealership should match the buckle thats in your truck.

Will that stop his door chime as well?

So is it the door or seat belt?
He's from Palatka after all...

I'd be more than glad to splain it to ya. Come on down, it's only fifty miles.
