I'd shoot it unless I decided I wanted to keep it as a collectible. It has no verdigris on it, looks like it was stored in a dry place at the right temperature.
Otherwise it would have corrosion on it.

Ole Geauxt bought that ammo before he was a teenager.
I won a jackpot skeet shoot at a pretty big fancy smancy dove shoot a few years ago with 12 ga shells that I bought from Kmart,, in about 71. When they saw the boxes with the price sticker on it,, they said I was cheatin' cause the shells were made stronger back then!! Dumasses...

Cool. Any story on the gun? How you got it?
Also, my assumption is that that magazine would be toast after that? Meaning the spring would never force the next round up properly again, or am I wrong?

Still have my grandfather's original rifle ammo from WWII. Been thinking about pulling the trigger on them for quite some time, so to speak

My great grandfather had the gun with some cash in a local bank. My paw paw emptied the box in the late 70s, and he kept the gun in his closet. He asked me to shoot it when I was in my teens. Not knowing any better, I did.
Mag spring worked fine.

I'd shoot those without hesitation.Saving / displaying would be cool though.
Staying in a compressed state doesnt weaken springs.

I bought some new Hornaday in case I want to shoot it. I'm saving these.
PS. It's $26 for a box of 20 (and this is the cheap stuff) so it's not a regular shooter.
