How did fishing go this weekend for yall?

I went to a brand new boat launch for the first time ever early in the AM. GPS did not lead me directly to the launch or the road I was suppose to turn down and there was zero signs. Took 30 minutes for me to find it. I did not catch a single fish. Lost a 6 dollar top water lure and a big spoon that I have had in my tackle box for over 30 years. . I switched to Striper fishing at 10 am and my line got caught up in the prop. Instead of unwrapping it with the pole I managed to tie a loop. I got most of it off at home. To end the day the way it started I was charged $15.00 to launch my boat. WTF. Not the best day but still had a good time.

Sounds perfect!
Might want to check out that prop seal real good to make sure the line didn't cut it.

Went to Henderson on Friday. Never seen so many boats on a weekday. That was the first time I had to wait in line to launch my boat on a weekday. Had to idle a lot because of boat traffic, caught one bass, came home early. Too damn hot to put up with that all day.

Pretty day but not great results. Fished a kayak tournament. First spot I get to I catch two reds back in 20 minutes on a spoon. The third fish I hooked broke my line with my only damn gold spoon. Didn’t catch a fish after that.
Ah well, it beats yard work.

Went to Henderson on Friday.
I've been wanting to go but pressure washing the house to prep for painting, siding and new windows kept me pretty busy...
I use the 511la.org/maps, look at the cameras, and check the traffic at the public landing...
but the one pointing at the landing has been out for a week or so...
need to throw a few baits and watch for the teal moving in...

11 reds and a nice flounder in Delacroix. Bunch of small reds and bass thrown back. Also kept 2 sheepshead to try them out as I’ve heard numerous people say they are good eating.

Too hot to fish.
Drug the kids around behind the boat tubing.
Only thing that broke was a bimini top bracket, so good weekend overall.

Hit a new place for about an hour and a half. Caught one that was 2.5-3, and lost what I believe was a big snakehead.

Put the kayaks on top of the subaru and drove up to a little lake on the National forest. It sits at about 9,500' in elevation. It wad 73 degrees when we got there about 11. We paddled around a few hours, ate a picnic lunch and caught a few rainbow trout. No real size to any of them, but it was a great time. It was 99 degrees when we got home.
