any ideas on who can tune my bike up with a quick turnaround. it starts and idles ok but bogs down under a load. I'm thinking carb issues. any help is appreciated.

Brian Motorsports in Zachary has a good turn around and is cheaper than the dealerships. 225-287-2740

I've been to friendly over off airline and they did alright, but I didn't feel like they really looked into the issue but rather just did a quick fix.

I don't bother with GN Gonzales anymore. 8 weeks to get something fixed and they're butt-heads about it.

You can buy aftermarket Carb for your bike for about 75 dollars and change it yourself.

Go to a local autopart store, Autozone, etc. and buy a gallon can of "Chem dip", it's in a paint can and has a small internal plastic tray.
Pull off the carb, remove the carb bowl and place all pieces in the Chem dip overnight. Take it out, submerge in gas to remove the cleaning agent and put it back together and on the engine.

They are shitty parts and will not work the way they are supposed. With that said I have an aftermarket carb for a 2007 rancher I will sell you dirt cheap.

I took my carb off my Recon this weekend. Took the jets out, cleaned them with carb cleaner.

Drained the tank, put it all back together and it runs better than ever.

Took me 2-3 hours, taking my time, drinkin beer.

Oh, yeah, searched it on youtube, watched a 10 minute video, really helped.

I didn't buy any parts.

I cleaned my Fourtrax 300 carb last week.
1. Take off seat
2. Remove gas tank
3. Remove frame bracket seat bolts to
4. Unscrew choke cable
5. Un hook throttle cable
6. Loosen two clamps on each side of carb & remove carb out top of frame.
7. Watch some you tube videos on carb cleaning
LINK
8. Go to bolt and screw store to buy new screws to replace the ones you had to cut the stripped heads off to remove the bowl.
9. Re-install carb

Carb cleaning is pretty easy. Take it apart and clean the jets with a small piece of wire from a wire brush. Only adjustment is to set the idle air mixture screw to 1 1/8 turn out. I use a 4 six pack beer case box with shop towel placed in bottom to disassemble carb so I don't lose or misplace anything.

The one I got for my Rancher works perfectly. All I had to do was adjust the idle

Yeah the rebuild kit was $35, and a new carb was $65. Spend a couple hours rebuilding a 9 year old one, or slap a new one on in 5 minutes. Easy choice for me

Didn't cost but $2.00 to clean and replace the stripped bowl screws for my 25 year old Fourtrax carb. Rebuild kit isn't necessary unless you need new gaskets or something.

Rebuild kits can be bought for $9.99 on ebay. I'll take my genuine Honda carb over a Chonda chinese carb

Used cheap after market parts several time with no problem......

Until this summer. Bike wouldnt run right. Sputtered, bogged down, idled hard, ran like shite. Took new carb off. Rebuild old factory carb, bike runs like new. Won't do that again.
