not the vermin we're fighting today. I doubt that terrorists give a frick about their wounded and I'm pretty sure we want to kill them, not just wound them.

Completely agree.

This is what I have in my bedroom, fine gift given to me by the fine folks of the Laurel PD years ago. Small riot shotgun thats easily hidden. Glock 27 in the truck, Glock 23 in bedroom, .38 in bathroom and one in kitchen, 12ga in closet, misc weapons thruout the rest of house..... you never know where your gona be at when someone wants to get stupid.

You're not worried that someone will break in when you're not there and steal everything, or worse use it against you?

They gotta find my weapons for them to be able to use them against me, and im willing to bet that Im closer to a weapon in my house than they are. If they rob it, they rob it.... but like I said before, they gotta find them 1st.

9 times out of 10, robbers go for easy to get items that they see (tvs, laptops, jewelry boxes, etc) might pick up a gun thats in a night stand, if thats where you keep it. Even if im taking a dump at 1am and I hear something, I dont have to make any noise in any other room to let the intruder know that they are in deep shite!

For the OP, there was a pretty good discussion on home defense weapons over on Bayoushooter forums not too long ago. It had very informative and surprising information on the subject.

When using 45 Colt, the cylinder is so long that lots of pressure is lost when the bullet has to pass through the air before contacting the rifling. This is also very detrimental to accuracy.

I believe it is the other way around. Since pressure drops as the bullet travels down the cylinder, less pressure is loss after it exits a longer cylinder than normal. Same as a bullet leaving a short vs. long barrel.

Yea, thats true, but it's irrelevant in this case. The round will depressurize because of the gap between the cylinder and where the actual barrel begins. Bap was getting at how much clearance they will have between the bullet tip and the forward end of the cylinder. Most revolvers have the bullet nesting very close to the end of the cylinder.

You could look at it from many different aspects I suppose. It's 6 one way and half a dozen the other. In all reality the difference would be negligible when used within the confines of a home.

Well I ended up getting a 9mm Glock 19 and a Adcor A-556 AR 15. I should be good for now.

Maybe so. I just think the Judge is a gimmicky weapon. You could save a good bit of weight with a revolver chambered in 45 colt and only 45 colt if that's what you really wanted.

Personally I don't care for it either, but that's more to do with personal taste than its performance. Some like the extra weight. I think polymer frame pistols at traditional metal frame prices are a gimick. Much cheaper to make.

Only if it's also accompanied by an exploding watermelon.

If a polymer guns outperforms a metal framed gun 10 times over, does it sway your opinion. Let's take a Beretta M9 and a Glock 17 and drop both in the mud then roll them in the sand and then put 5 mags through each and see which one functions. Or, we can take a 1911 and a Glock and run them both with unlimited rounds and see which one FTF first. The value of polymer guns is in the performance.
