Do IWB holsters work in this situation or is there certain holsters to get when carrying with a tucked in shirt?

yeah i don't get it all. i'd feel like walking around with a clip to my belt is a giveaway that hey i got a gun here.

it will specify if its tuckable or not. You need to make sure when ordering

This mode takes a lot of thought. You have to select pants, shirt and belt carefully. You have to select a holster (tuckable) that will ride low enough, yet allow you to adjust the height so the pistol is available to draw.
Most of the popular hybrid (Crossbreed Supertuck, Com-tac Minotaur, and dozens of others) may just have too much material on the topside (but some may work).
N82 Tactical Pro is one that may work. You just have to find the right combination for your pistol, preferred carry position, to keep it concealed with shirt tucked in, and this may necessitate a new belt, shirts and tailoring.

i wear IWB tuckable holsters all the time. No one has ever said a thing. Its a small clip on your belt. No one notices. If you are looking that had at another mans waiste you have other issues. It just looks like part of the belt.

They work just fine, like others have said it takes the right pants and belt. Also certain prints on shirts can help mask any patterning of gun against your side.
As far as what shows from the holster? It shouldn't be minimal or everything under the belt. I put Uticlips on my IWB, they clamp down on the waistband of the pants and then the belt goes over them. They fit on just about any holster

I wear polos and dress shirts everyday. I tried to CC with a tuckable holster and gave up. I bought a Galco ankle holster and have been using it for over a year now. It sucks really bad for the first few months, but its unnoticeable at this point.

I have a really old Crossbreed for my XD. It works in certain situations. Dress pants, it is probably going to print. A good pair of Jeans or thicker Khaki pants, and you're good. I go with a thicker, darker colored Polo shirt, or a dress shirt that isn't white. Like a royal blue type color. The belt really matters more than anything else.

Check out the alien gear website. You can also chat live with someone. I have the alien gear 3.0 and it is tuckable.

sort of
Pretty much any part of a concealment holster that is showing will be a tip off to other concealed carry citizens. Same with the belt pouches that mimic cell phone pouches from the 90's, or when you see a 60 yr old guy in shorts and tank top but he has a fanny pack.
I think in many instances the bad guys are not familiar with these more expensive holsters and don't notice. The non carrying general public doesn't give it a second thought.
The best way too cc in my opinion is when all parts of the weapon and holster are covered from view by an overhanging garment.

Honestly I don't care about the clips from the holster when I carry my Shield which will be most of the time. I pretty much have to use these clip type holsters when I work because I wear tucked in polos or button ups 90% of the time. I've never been real comfortable with the C type clips although I'm not sure why besides you can still see them...and I won't even use a J clip because I can't imagine all that weight on the waist band of just the pants not supported by the belt.
When I have to wear a suit or more fitted dress attire I'll probably still carry my LCP in the wallet holster. That level of concealment is pretty hard to get with a gun that is even a little accurate though.
ETA To answer the OP's question. I carried a Glock 23 in a Crossbreed Supertuck for a year. It was fairly comfortable and was completely concealed with no printing that I ever noticed (and by God I looked at it a lot for the first month). Now when I say fairly comfortable there got to be a time when I found times, like once a week or so, where I just didn't wear it because I didn't want to deal with it. This is no good for concealed carry. I purchased my LCP 4 or so years ago with an Uncle George's wallet holster and carried that gun every single day until my permit expired and I didn't get it renewed in time and then procrastinated until last weekend to take the class again. That was comfortable but like I said my accuracy took a real hit with the LCP and I'd say I'm at least a decent shot.

That is an excuse to carry the 1911. Suit or sports coat and an OWB holster FTW

Does it matter if it does, you have met the legal requirement to conceal the weapon, does it matter if someone thinks you have a gun?
Posted on 7/19/16 at 12:31 pm to Tigerpaw123
Some people want it to be fully concealed. Not that hard to understand.

In many states it is a misdemeanor to have a concealed weapon visible unless in use in self defense. This has resulted in antigun nuts actually using social media to identify and broadcast the location of CHL citizens when they notice the weapon. States with open carry laws usually have a provision protecting legal CHL holders from incidental or accidental showing of the weapon. You can still get a citation for brandishing your weapon though if you are excessive.

How did we go from talking about the clips being visible to the whole weapon being visible?
