I’ll keep y’all posted on duck numbers and how well we do. Going with 3.

Good luck. Interested to hear your report. I haven't hunted Sabine in probably 7-8 yrs.

Bring your rod and reel. The reds are thick around mid morning.

Update: didn’t fire a shot. First time ever with no ducks. It’s a bad year lol.

Anything is better than sitting in a blind for another hr without shooting a shot after 3.

Have several groups of friends that went this morning to Sabine. Probably 6 different boats of folks total. People that I know kill ducks at the Sabine. 4 boats scratched 1 boat shot 2 and the last boat shot 4. All teal. All morning they saw very few birds at all. Strange

Yeah we shut it down. Everyone did lol. We usually shoot ducks early, this year is different. My buddy guides and he shut it down

Hunt Jeff Davis parish and our blind of 4 scratched. Almost all blinds around us scratched. Saw plenty of ducks, but they were on a mission and never checked up.

If you're familiar with hunting public land in SWLA it's not strange. It's actually the norm.

I'm hearing reports from Sabine to Lacassine to rice fields in Welsh and Marshes in Cameron, just no birds anywhere. Opening day is the only time I heard of anyone downing limits of birds, with those mostly teal. Horrible year, I'd hate to be paying top dollar for blinds with no birds.

The same is going on in the MS Delta with the lack of ducks. Hearing the same thing in Missouri and that the ducks are headed back North. Need some cold weather to drive them down South.
