Anyone with recent reports from that area? Seeing post about numbers up over the last week or so in Louisiana. Hoping that translates up where we will be hunting Wed / Thurs.

We have a rice field lease in Cash. The guy that hunts it a lot said there are a good bit of ducks and specks in the area, but we haven’t had much luck on our field yet.

If you’re on the X, or hunting flooded corn, you’ll scratch out a good hunt. Not supposed to freeze down here until Jan. Got to go to know

We have a place just north of Cash in Egypt. Very little water and few ducks. You’d probably have better luck chasing specks.

Exactly where are you hunting?

That's the area that was hit by the tornado.

Yeah the tornado passed about 5 miles from where we’re gonna be staying at Dirty Rice Outfitters. They said everything is fine at their place

We have a field at knobel, o'kean and Alicia. Pretty hit and miss. 2 man limit sat, 5 birds Sunday, 13 ducks and 7 geese out of 2 fields Monday.

Lots of birds around, hard to kill already...

I hunted Monday and Tuesday of this week out of Elaine, AR. We saw a lot more birds Monday than Tuesday, but we killed more on Tuesday than Monday.

Monday was a blue bird crystal clear day. The low temp at daylight hovered right around freezing. There was no wind whatsoever. 6 ducks consisting of 3 mallards, 1 spoonie, and 2 gadwall. 1 large speckle belly.

Tuesday was much more mild, temp wise with overcast skies and wind. The birds that did come in were killed. 8 hunters in the blind both days. 16 ducks consisting of 2 mallards, 3 pintails, 5 teal, 4 gadwall, and 2 spoonies. 1 speckle belly. Of the birds we saw yesterday, the majority of them were pintails.

We did take a trip over to Stuttgart on Monday afternoon to Mack's Prairiewings. The fields that did have water were mostly covered with big ducks. There were not nearly as many geese in all of the fields like there were this time last year on the same trip.

One of the guys staying at the lodge we did told me Monday night that all of the ducks are holed up in Central Missouri now and won't really come down until they freeze, which is usually the end of January. This guy works for the forestry/ conservation district out of Springfield, fwiw.

Good luck on your hunt.
