Have any of you ever set up mock scrapes or rubs?

One of my friends hunts about 400 acres that he manages, free roam no fence. A lot of scrapes he finds he pees in himself. He says he has pictures of bucks coming and freshening the scrapes afterwards. I don't do it myself but just passing on the info haha.

Yes, I have used it in the past.

I had a deer I knew was in the area earlier in the year, but was near the property line. I set up a mock scrape with a camera on it and got a few pictures but he stayed nocturnal and never got a shot at him.

So, it got him curious enough to come off his rub line and get pictures so I would consider it a success.

Killed a big one over an old scrape I started pissing on 2 years ago. Almost killed a big one last year checking a spot I was pissing on. May have just been luck but I'll be doing it again this year.

Have used buck pee in existing scrapes before. Makes dominant bucks in the area more active. Check their scrapes more and shite like that. Only works for me when they are rutting good. Otherwise I have had no noticeable sucess with any of it.

Lord knows ive tried.

I had limited luck using that. Way back in the day when Tink's 69 first came out, that stuff was good. After a couple years, it went to crap.

Placement is a big key using it. One has to use the wind. Also hunting pressure in a area plays a big roll.

I've tried those and never had any success with them.

My dad likes to hang one at a trail crossing near his food plot and says does will stop and check it out every now and then but more walk right pass it.

I've had good luck with them in the rut. I usually use it for cover scent on my boots #CoonassDragRag

side note -I bought a pretty neat pouch (?) of urine that squirts when squeezed. Going to try it out Oct 1, results to follow

I will be hunting MO during prerut/rut in NOV.

I think I will give it a try at one of the planned locations.

I'm pretty sure I had that exact one. It needed a good bit of sunlight on it in order to start dripping. Just something to keep in mind.

I tried in Union Parish 4 years ago.

The deer are still laughing at me.
