Damn that's a funky looking rack. What's the story with that deer?

the guide thinks that deer was 6.5 yrs old. He was going to be a breeder but his rack was too non-typical so he was pasture released after one year..... he disappeared on the ranch til this year and got pretty patternable. He was the biggest deer I've ever seen on the hoof.

that was the deer my dad took by the way.

..... also the buck that sparked the argument over whether he weighed 300 lbs or not. I'd say he was definitely closer to 300 than 250 but I really don't want to open that can of worms again.

I want to see pics of this so called 300 pound Texas buck. Sorry man but if real I need to see it. The one on the left is a stud btw. The one on the right, lot of bone, just freaky.

Bear Creek Ranch. Santo, TX.

I've already posted pics of the buck. I never said he weighed 300. I said he was closer to 300 than 250. probably in the 280 range somewhere. I wish now we had gotten a body weight to end the controversy.

I would honestly prefer the cow horn buck over the 10-12pt just because it's so unique.

Not trying to dimenish the 10-12pt but the cow horn is awesome.

The thing is and I read the link, bucks deer look like fatasses when they are that heavy. Deer in the Midwest and north get that big to survive the winter. All of mine that I've killed have been around 225 to 235 lbs and they were "heavy" deer. They looked no smaller than those 2.

If someone over 280 was chasing your arse, youse say a dude around 300 was after you.

that guy weighs @275 give or take a cheeseburger.

Oh and we did remove the tags. Pics were taken on the wall at the taxidermist's place. I knew I probably wouldn't get them on the wall together again after that.
