I have never seen one over $50K, and I handle a few.

I am actually going to be more surprised if the homeowners insurance had animal liability that covers that breed of dog.

There would have to be an exclusion. There are none in the policies of the companies I represent( 3 big ones).

Could be grandfathered policies. Most new policies, even with major carriers, are coming with animal exclusions for certain breeds.

Where are you?

My daughter was attacked viscously by 2 Bull Mastiffs in 2016. Payout was around $300k.

Attorneys that handled the case were Laborde Earles.

I remember well. In particular we had a doberman in the neighborhood that would bite and after every kid that passed in front of its house. We were scared to death, but our parents never batted an eye. We were simply told to avoid the house.

"Each year, 4.7 million people are bitten by dogs. Of those bitten
each year, 386,000 are seriously injured (2,3). In fact, between the
years of 1979 and 1998, 238 people died from dog-bite related
injuries in the U.S.A. (4). Injuries caused by dogs cost insurance
companies nearly one billion dollars annually (2,3). Consequently,
many insurance companies refuse to issue homeowners insurance
to owners of specific breeds of dogs considered ‘‘vicious’’ or high
risk of causing injury. The six breeds most commonly identified as
‘‘vicious’’ are Akita, Chow (‘‘Chow Chow’’), Doberman, Pit Bull,
Rottweiler, and Wolf-mix (5). LINK"

"A total of 166 owners of vicious dogs were
compared with 189 owners of low risk dogs, showing that vicious
dog owners had nearly 10 times more criminal convictions than
other dog owners" LINK

It has been proven. If you own a vicious dog breed then more than likely you have your own mental issues, LOL. A lawyer owning a wolf. Not a good sign

Do we have some wolves nobody talks about roaming the south and knocking up dogs? Is there an underground wolf breeding program? Hybrid wolf dogs biting people everywhere.

Just because it's a breed that looks wolfish doesn't mean its a hybrid.

I have a neighbor 4 houses down that has one. It is a huge MFer. I asked him, where he got it? He said he found a breeder on Craigslist.

Most people go lifetime without seeing a wolf, much less attacked by one.. this mfr was attacked twice, in the span of an hr, by the same wolf, in Louisiana of all places wata day man

I have question for the lawyers on here. You can shoot a dog on your property that is deemed vicious or if you are in fear of your life if my understanding is correct. Could one then simply shoot a loose pit bull on their property if pit bulls are deemed to be a vicious breed by some local or state ordinance regardless if it is being destructive at the moment?
