I started going to the camp with dad and papaw soon as I could walk. That's where I grew up. I took my little boy last year 6-7 times. I built a low to the ground box stand fully enclosed w/ tinted windows. He did fine considering. About 2 hours is the most we could stay in the stand. One hunt we left the camp about 4pm. Took another 3 year old who's dad is in the camp with us to the stand. At 4:40 I shot this cull 6. He was 30 yards in front of the stand. The boys went nuts. Probably the favorite deer I've ever shot, and I've shot plenty. Bring an Ipod w/ some Blues Clues and whatnot, Little Debbies and hot choclate.

I think each kid is differant.
My dad brought me a couple times when I was about 8 or so, but I realy didn't start huntin till I was 12. I think my brother started a few years earlier than me, but he is older so I don't remember. If your kid can sit still and quiet long enough then go for it and don't worry about his age.

That is awesome.

Not sure what age my dad started bringing me but I would say about 4 or 5. Those are some of my earliest memories that i can recall. We lived in south Tx then and my dad was in the oilfeild, I remember riding around the ranches while he was checking wells and he always had his gun. It was awesome for me when he would shoot a deer or turkey. He told me after I was grown that one day he missed one and i told em if he had let me shoot I would have killed him, .

We kept the hunts short lastyear. I've got to make it a weekend trip atleast to make it worthwhile with all the cost. My kids love staying at the camp anyway so its a win win.

bring a portable dvd player, they'll last a few hours. of course you would need to be in a box stand. $100 at walmart.

I've been bringing my kids since they were three. Afternoon hunts get in blind at about three thirty. That's why I have a few ground blinds they can play on my iPhone or bring something to keep occupied. I just enjoy being there with them.

I think you could take him on one or two hunts, but I wouldn't start bringing him regularly until he gets a little older.

Bring him on some quick hunts to see how he handles it.

Why wouldn't I want my kid to think it's ok to drink?
