Some of y'all may remember me saying we weren't renewing the lease on family land and the hunting club was told this would be their last year. They were told to still obey all club rules of 8pt or better and 13 inches. The family member that was in charge of monitoring the club is a pussy and when I told him early on that the club was not keeping a kill log he said he would address it. Of course this never happened and I made it a point of logging in a pig I shot just to be a smart arse.

Well now that the season is over these guys have been getting their stuff out and one particular who has sour grapes about losing the lease was there this weekend squirrel hunting and cleaning out his room. Saw him several times while doing work up there and he never spoke.

After he left today I had to go in the camp and saw he left a note on the bulletin board listing all their kills from this year. He was too chicken shite to log kills during the season but left a note detailing the 15 bucks and 4 does ( him and his wife were responsible for 5 bucks and 3 does) that were killed.

I expected they would shoot everything they saw this year but to not keep a log and then take a parting shot that he knew wouldn't be seen until he was half way back to Lake Charles is just being a pussy.

Sorry so long. Just needing to vent.

man, this kind of shite is totally predictable when leasing out land...no point in getting yourself all mad about something that is inevitable.

When you fire someone, you don't tell him he's fired as of next Friday. You tell him, and then escort him out of the building.

This week would have been a good time to tell them you weren't renewing the lease.

I completely agree and suggested it but early in the season tempers flared and the powers that be couldn't resist and just had to tell them. They were told if they break a rule they are out that day. That's why they hid all the rule violations until today.

I suspected it was gonna happen. The chicken shite way the guy left the note when he left drives me crazy.

I defiantly wouldn't have told them until the end of the season.

We hunt in Jackson LA on 1800 acres. We killed 15 deer between 15 members and several guests. They weren't moving this year in that area for some reason. I think he is screwing with you. If not, he is a piece of shite.

Unfortunately this is the only fix in this situation.

It's a possibility he made up some of the numbers but I don't think he did. Running trail cameras pretty hard before the season those numbers were certainly possible.

I know the deer aren't gone forever and in a few years they will be replenished but hate that for the kids that the land is was supposed to be for. They won't have a shot at a rack for a while

Just asking, but does the family that leases the land still hunt it too?

Reason we will always be a relatively shitty state to hunt deer in.

Mother in law leased to a club. I'd hunt occasionally (3-4 Xs a year) but never shot a deer. Just pigs.

Now it will be me and my boys, my sis in law and her husband.
