I admit that I didn't know that. I do most of my deer hunting out of state, so I haven't kept close track of Louisiana regs. Choupique taking me to school.

Good to hear. Haven't seen a fox on our farm in 15 years. Thought they were displaced by the yotes and gators.

always has been....at least in my lifetime.....

I think the "fox hunters" the guys who simply chase them with dogs have fought hard to keep it that way.

fox populations in LA are not that great - used to see em a lot more than you do now.

used to have one living behind our house - neat animal..

Threatened and Endangered Species

Taking or harassment of any of these species is a violation of state and federal laws. Foxes are protected quadrupeds and may be taken only with traps by licensed trappers during the trapping season. Remaind of the year "chase only" allowed by licensed hunters.

the trapping industry

and..

the guys that fox hunt(which is simply chasing them with dogs)

much more powerful lobbiers than people wanting to shoot foxes.

also in the not too distant past it was not legal to shoot bob cats in la

You'd rather have a bunch of ducks and geese and no foxes than some ducks, geese, and foxes? Why? They're not going to catch them all. They've had a few million years to exterminate waterfowl and they haven't done it yet.
