For the first time in my life, I'm tempted by a crossbow

Just for the simple fact that you don't have to draw it back like a bow. None of my ladder stands are the type to bow hunt from with sling type seats and shooting rails.

I'm literally hanging lock-one next to trees with stands already in them. Seems like a waste of money and time to do this.

Someone talk some sense into me

Is you elderly? Is your arms broke? Is you wearing panties? Is you handicapped other than mentally? If you answered yes to any of these questions then time to go crossbow shopping. If you answered no then you know the answer

Sorry. Been watching videos of the riots in the Carolinas. Apparently that's how that part of the country talks

Then you won't be bow hunting.

Way I see it- it's legal, you're a grown arse man, it's your money and your lease. If you want a crossbow- buy a crossbow. It's still a challenge getting them within range. I personally only bow hunt now but I've taken deer with a crossbow and it's harder than using s rifle.

Do what you want buddy, but don't let some assholes on the internet discourage you from trying something new. Maybe you'll love that shite. Only one way to find out.

For us city slickers who can't shoot guns in our yard they are great for Armadillo control.

It's funny that people will talk shite about using a crossbow during archery season but then those same people use a .35 whelen during "primitive" season.

use whatever floats your boat. It's legal, and is ethical. That's all that counts.

I think you should get one if you want one. They are really fun to shoot and not having to draw when a deer is in range is a big advantage.

My only advice: Make sure you do your homework and practice with broadheads. At high speeds some broadheads may fly different than field points.
