Never fished in Dularge. Heading down tomorrow evening and fishing Saturday. See the tides aren't supposed to be moving till like 9 so thinking about running out to some rigs within 9 miles till the water starts moving inshore.
How deep are the rigs out there? Any chance for cobia or snapper?

No chance for legal snapper unless you run way to the East. Good chance of Cobia, though.

If you go to the nearshore rigs and fish for trout, they are not nearly as dependent on tide as the islands.

Pickets Reef, Mardi Gras, Enstar, and Blue Point should all have some fish on them. That said there have been a bunch of people out of Dularge fishing these rigs at night, so they might be picked over. I haven't been to them in a month.

don't think that's on the plate as far as getting a room tomorrow night goes. Already have a room reserved at Jugs.

Thanks fellas for the help and suggestions. This board can be promising at times.

You gonna have to take a 2 hour+ boat ride for snapper,,,you may be able to find some Cobia a little closer in.

If you're staying at Juggs, then just head due South and fish the islands....

Go mess around in the marsh and catch some redfish, then roll out to the islands....I'm sure you could always chase birds in the bay until the water starts moving.

weather was beautiful all weekend. Was a smooth ride out at night to Mardi Gras.

Pulled up to the rigs and started throwing double rigs. Kept getting small bumps but no hookups. Tied on a Mirrordean and it was game on. I caught 12 trout quickly then the wind started blowing. Ended up with 15 trout before heading back in at 12:00

Saturday morning headed to Racoon point. Didn't catch anything but ladyfish.

Headed to the Pickets and could have filled the boat with 2 at a time White trout. Picked up a few keeper specs in the mix. Headed back out to Mardi Gras and didn't catch a single fish.

Jugs hotel accommodations were surprisingly good. Nice people that run the place. For $125.00 cash we got a room that sleeps 4 . Tv,Fridge, coffee maker and very cold ac. They even include boat launch and all the ice you need for that price.

If fishing Mardi Gras or other rigs try a suspended live shrimp inlieu of Carolina. A small squeeze on Brem weight does it for me. It's been weird this year , only junk on the bottom and trout thick off the bottom but don't want to hit a shrimp under cork. Also try a quick pop off the bottom with Carolina too.
