Wasn't saying we left them. Just couldn't find them. Rolled em dead but just lost them in grass. Looked for awhile. Why I said we need a dog. There were 4 of us hunting that morning.

Well then we didn't go over our limit. Not sure what your getting at. I know the laws. We made an effort to find them and couldn't. 6x4=24. We shot 24 only found 20. Understood?

I left out one of the numbers on purpose. My post was a suggestion and nothing more.

I hunt marsh and flooded timber, never really ever see specs except way up, much less shoot any.

I got a dog. For a hunt, no charge for retrieving.

Nice pics. I love shooting specs...gotta find a place where I can kill more of them. Heard a lot of them in the fog south of Gueydan yesterday.

Side story on the wanton waste topic (I know you stated you looked for your lost birds). Group of my GA buddies used to hunt around Jonesboro, AR. They got ticked by a game warden for not making appropriate effort to find a winged bird that went down a long ways off. Green jeans was watching them from a tree line that was 1/2 mile away and walked across 1/2 mile of rice fields to check and ticket them. At the end of the conversation he said, "what ever happened to that pintail y'all winged?" They didn't have an acceptable response. I always think about that story when I cripple a bird.
