Where's Arties located?

Arties is on the beach in GI, doesn't have a marina attached. I suppose you could anchor and wade in or beach your boat and walk up.

I watched a willing volunteer get held down on a fishing chair by 2 strippers, while a 3rd rode his face like a mechanical bull... so did about 200 other people

That's amateur shite. I watched a nice young lady with a promising future put a Heineken bottle in her arse, big end first. Allegedly it's better this way, something to do with the open end creating a vacuum in your arse when you go to pull it out.

I will never forget my first TR in GI, what has been seen cannot be unseen.

There was a place just North of Holly Beach in the marsh adjacent to highway but I can't remember it's name. Rita blew it the hell away. Nothin but slab surrounded by debris. A week later I went by and they'd hung a tarp over the slab, plugged a cooler into a gennie. gathered a few chairs and tables and were open for business. I had to stop.

I deckhanded for 5 summers on a Hatteras 60 and spent tons of time in fishing bars all over the Gulf Coast from Port A, texas to Destin, Fl.

By far the best place to have the boat docked is...Was...AJ's

Alright, I'm gonna need some help here. There was/still may be a lake bar on Old River (North of Morganza, South of Simmesport) that was a real shite hole, but had a ton of character. Went there the night before Katrina hit, then went back one year for the 4th of July. A college kid walking in there with a group of Chi O's from LSU made the record stop every time. For the life of me, I cannot remember the name. Knowing the OB, I am sure you all will produce the name of this place in no time. Hell, one of you may own it.

You talking about the floating bar on the river? Old river landing bar? Bear's den?

That's up Cypress Bayou on Caddo. Is that the place with the great fried fish plates?

NWLA honorable mention, Da Cove on Cross Lake.

I don't remember, but you were probably there! I don't remember it floating, but I don't remember a lot about it.

It had to be the one that's about a mile north of old river landing right off the levee.
That place has had a few names over the years so I'm not sure what it's called. It was floating at one time, but in recent years was pulled up on the bank. I think at one time it was called moma cats or Peggie' D's. I think it's where Serio's landing is now.

Lived in AK for a couple years. Never made it to Pelican. But AK has GREAT dive bars. The Salty Dog in Homer.. Peanut Farm and Darwin's Theory in Anchorage. Tony's in Cooper Landing on the Kenai Peninsula.

The Sour Dough in Dawson City, Yukon Territory.. home of the Sour Toe cocktail..google it, fckn gross. Love sitting in a roadhouse on the Al Can or Cassiar Highways just shooting the shite with the locals.

And of course..... on the Parks Highway, halfway between Denali and Fairbanks.... the only place to drink is Skinny Dicks Halfway Inn. No shite. That's the name of it. It was just the Halfway Inn but then Skinny Dick bought it.

But our swamp bars are still better.

I was on one of those sports a couple years ago. I almost puked when the second frat star from ole miss sat down and decided to one up his buddy before him. He ran his tongue from belly button all the way to her tramp stamp and stopped in between. This was the one turning tricks in the portalets

The Yukon in Seward and the Alaskan in Juneau are awesome as well. The road from Wasilla to Willow used to be lined with some great dive bars with very interesting people
