Thinking about getting a Spyderco Para 2 as well
I was torn between a PM2 and the Sage 5. DLT Trading has a few PM2 exclusives if you want something besides the standard black handle/S30V blade. I ended up with the one in the link, but they've also got a cru-wear with a purple handle and a 20CV/tan handle. Tough choices.

My Shaman is in CTS-XHP steel, which I've found has been great. Good edge retention and not too difficult to sharpen.
My favorite Para 2 is in CPM 110SV. It holds an edge unbelievably but sharpening it is no fun whatsoever. It's such a pain to sharpen being so hard.

Yeah, I'm buying some diamond stones for the S90V. Almost got the 110 but wasn't crazy about the scales and the 90 was $40 cheaper.

I've got that same para 3. And that's also why I got a Ken Onion Worksharp. It does it well. You just have to be careful and completely understand what you're doing. You can jack up some stuff fast with a belt sander.
But oooooweeeee does it put an edge on S110V fast.

I have the original WorkSharp that I used freehand with aftermarket belts, but tips are very difficult (for me) to sharpen without rounding. For the price I think I'm going to try the elite version of their new guided system.
I have used a leather belt on the WorkSharp to touch up the S90V and it does a good job, even with regular compound. I wasn't sure if it would work without one of the expensive diamond sprays.

I switch between
Spyderco Native 5 (older s35vn)
Swiss army knife (wife got it for me while in switzerland)
Kershaw Leek
Kershaw Scallion
Benchmade Bugout
They are all around or older than 10 years and still great. Bugout is newest.

Man I want one of these in magnacut.

just bought a Civivi Praxis and have been carrying daily for a couple weeks. It's my first Civivi but most certainly won't be the last, very impressed.
ETA: in fact, just pulled the trigger on a Civivi Riffle w/ Damascus blade and sandlewood scales

I carry a Spyderco Dragonfly but want to get something a little bigger.

Delica or Native if you want to stick with Spyderco, Kershaw Cryo if you want something nice but inexpensive and don't mind "made in China." They're less than $30 on Amazon, and if it was made in the US and sold for $130 it would be a fair price. They also have a US made Blur with s30v for $85; that's also a great deal but you're getting into the "over 3" blade" class.

I'll have to try my Ken Onion on it. Like you said, I've been really leary of putting it on there for fear of jacking it up.

I bought the worksharp Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener and like it a bunch.
