So the 9 sounds good.
There is a 12 and 16 on mudmotortalk right now, both are in the Nashville area though. They are listed for $1200 and $1500 respectively.
ETA: There is also a 25 for $1200, on CL, in Southaven, MS, just south of Memphis.

I own a 6.5 hp JB Mud Motor and it is just as good if not better than a Dixie or a Copperhead. It has alot of tourque and good topend

Thanks for the input.

I missed out on the 9hp go devil, so I am still looking. I will take another look at the JB motors when I get closer with my funds.

I had a 14' with a 18 hp godevil surface drive and it did well. With 2 people, a dog and decoys it would run about 18 mph. Godevil still makes the 18hp you just have to ask for it.

I say no. Have a 23hp on a 15x42 = to about 18 mph loaded.
