OMG

You can get a new Ram 2500 4x4 with the 6.4L for that much.

I could understand mini-trucks if they had mini prices, but when they're more than a HD? No way.

2 or 3 mpg better mileage
not worth the loss in space and power. I could understand if it were 5+ mpg

The Sierra in the same trim with same features is 52K. I don't know how much they would come off of the sticker though.

I looked at the Canyon as well, and the price was just to high. I was dead set on a midsize, but the math doesn't add up in the end with the GM products. And the others gas milage is terrible.

Ended up buying a 2014 GMC SLE Crew Cab with 8,500 miles for ~30K. 30,000 miles on it now and lifetime MPG is a little under 19. I think i made the right choice.

My Tacoma is a glorious machine and I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

GMC is overpriced. Aside from the fact that they're at least $3K more than the exact same Chevrolet, both Toyota & Ford are cheaper with equivalent trim and engine options.

BUT: lasts forever, practically indestructible, has outright owned the segment for years.

There Isn't very much difference, but i have found that GMC's come with better tires..... I personally think they look better, have a better finish, and and less people have them.

Don't care if my butt is numb after 15 minutes of driving, Taco fan boys are quite a group.

Resale value is the least of my concerns, I have had Hondas and Nissans that were all well built and gave me no problems for well over 150K miles.

10-12K off sticker on any domestic. They have devalued their brand so much by jacking up their prices and then discounting 20%. Don't get why they do this at all.

Guys with the Tacoma seat problems. Find some new seats. If the only issue is the seating then perhaps some aftermarket seats are available. Bolt on ready.

like these. I'm sure there are others.

I like my Tacoma but it damn sure hasn't been without issue in 175K. Should've bought my old man's '04 before he sold it.

Are people really getting this off domestic full size trucks? Say a 2015 F150 lariat?

I have had a new Colorado for over 3 months now.

JMHO having owned both the Tacoma and the Colorado, both V-6,4-wheel drive versions.

If you want crappy gas mileage, a terrific engine with a chassis that is made for four wheeling go with the Taco.
Of course expect to change the water pump at 120K miles (no biggie), un-fixable driveline vibrations if you put ANYTHING larger than the stock tires on. Potential driveline shudder at low rpm that is roughly the same as driving a manual with a clutch thats gone. Oh and mileage that sucks for a V-6 vehicle, even brand new. I won't even get into the whole frame-rust issues that have been an ongoing issure for many. But resale is the best of any vehicle out there,FWIW.

With the Colorado you get a world -class interior, terrific ride (not quite as good as a full-size, but close). A gutsy engine, transmission that just needs the newest factory reflash to update the better transmission shift points. Better ride, more towing capacity and as you said before, the ability to actually park in a spot w/o packing it in like a sardine into a can.
As for mpg I get roughly 17-18 city and 24-26 highway. Thats driving 75-79 miles an hour mind you. Ain't a full-size made (except maybe the diesel Dodge) ,that will touch that.
Drove out to Texarkana from Upstate,S.Carolina Labor Day wknd. For the trip averaged 24.8mpg.
Made the same exact trip with my Tacoma back in 2010 and averaged 19.8.
5 mpg may not sound like much but thats 105 miles more range at hwy speeds.
As for price I paid 34,5K for the V-6,Z-71 with bose/nav and donut-maker.

I've had my Colorado about three months too and it is as good as advertised. I got the LT crew cab with V6, 2wd and the 6' bed.

It hauled everything I needed to set up the deer camp last weekend and got 26.5 mpg doing it. I find that it rides as well as my old Silverado and handles better. I test drove a new Silverado too and just like the Colorado better. Similarly equipped the negotiated price difference was about 5K. Sticker difference was about 10K but they negotiate more on the big trucks.

Incentives on the Colorado are not there yet, but I joined a credit union to get about $1,500 off.

I see adds all of the time for between $5000 and $15000 off of new GM/Ford trucks and SUVs. Oddly enough, I don't think they do the same for their cars. If you pay sticker on a 1/2 ton, you just got taken for a ride
