Any one ever heard of this? What would one be worth? 7.62 x 54 or would it be 7.62 x 56?

Heard of it but really have no idea of the value.

It's a varient of the AK. I thought there were all 7.62 x 54
Quick google search tells me that if it's the real deal it could be worth a bundle.

If it's a kit, then still worth a little but nowhere near as much as a real one

If I put a scope on my Ruger 10/22, does that make it a sniper rifle?

Sorry, just can't stand that term. A rifle is a rifle, and a scoped rifle is a scoped rifle. A trained sniper may use a rifle with a magnified optic but that doesn't necessarily make it a "sniper" rifle. Sniper's rifle would make more sense.

As far as the Dragunov, as others said, authentic ones are very expensive.

Looks cool as hell. I'm not a big gun guy by any means. All I do is bow hunt but this might be a deal that I can't pass up

A genuine Russian dragunov is very valuable and a typical Russian piece of equipment. Extremely durable and a bit crude.

I think they're 7.62x54R?

It's a big heavy ugly arse rifle.

If it's a Century Arms it is likely a Romanian PSL and not a Dragunov. They used to be relatively inexpensive but the value has gone up quite a bit on the PSL in the pst few years. With the scope they regularly go for $1200 ish.

So is any other deer rifle with a scope. What makes them different?

You realize the Dragunav was literally a sniper rifle right? So you are being kinda an idiot here. It's a Russian military rifle with a powered scope usually, that's a sniper rifle.

I agree that the modern media loves to throw around the terms sniper rifle and assault rifle very loosely, but they are actually legitimate terms that can be used appropriate. The dragunav is literally a sniper rifle.

That's like saying a green beret holding a Barrett .50 cal with a 14 power scope is a shooting a hunting rifle. Yeah it could be, but it's literally a sniper rifle.

Well it's actually an anti-material rifle.

Ha, touché.

Eta: to answer the op, without the scope I wouldn't buy it unless you have an actual use for it. Never going to be worth a ton I mean as a collectors piece, but if you think it's a cool peace why not? 'Merica

fricking weird arse rant considering the official term for the weapon includes the word "sniper."

Depends.

7.62x54 is the "long" Soviet round and is the Mosin Nagant and Dragunov round. 7.62x56 doesn't exist - it's metric for the British .303. 7.62x39 is the traditional "short" Soviet round found in AK-47 and SKS. 7.62x51 is NATO's militarized version of .308 Winchester round.

Hope this helps.
