Some people will put gorilla tape on the bottom of hulls to prevent major damage. Has to be replaced often. Or get a cart...or a friend.

It's gonna happen so you might as well just get used to it. Most of the roto molded kayaks are pretty thick, so some scratches from rocks/pavement wont make a difference IMO.

have you thought about one of the wheeled carts or even a sled like they use on ice?....I use a small ice sled to pull decoys, etc in the marsh and it works great...

I usually drag mine a few feet from launch to water. Seems to be holding up okay. Oysters do a worse number

I bitched and moaned about price of the Hobie cart. It's now one of my favorite accessories. I drag up boat ramp enough to get the cart under. The Hobie seems MUCH softer plastic than any of the others.

My Jackson, I can drag across concrete fully loaded without worries. The only thing I cringe for is sliding over oysters.

I just carry mine as much as I can to minimize dragging time. It's got some scratches, but they'd be a lot worse if I wasn't toting it 97% of the time.

I car top my Jackson Cuda upside down and then just hold it above my head all the way to the launch.

I just carry mine by the side handle when I'm by myself at a launch; it only gets slid the last few inches needed for a beach start.

At the condo I slide it right off the back dock; the edges of the wood get damaged more than the yak.

I use a cart that I made out of a kids bicycle trailer for my Hobie. What type of kayak do you have?

my cuda has a replaceable piece of black hard plastic on the back of the hull. i drag that corner all over the concrete, i never drag the rest of the hull. well, unless you count going over a rock damn to get away from aligators, it was definitely drug then.

I almost never go fishing solo so there's always someone to help. I take good care of my stuff though so even if I was solo I'd break my back trying to prevent dragging it.

i drag my Native Ultimate 12' around & throw it around. I don't do it on purpose, but I'd rather not thrown my back out lifting a goofy kayak about my head unless I need too. Also, the more scratches, the less likely someone will want to steal it; that's my reasoning. I put a JB Weld or epoxy covering on the pontoon peaks sometime last year, I forget what it was, but it's didn't really hold up that well and started to peel off after the first use.Maybe I'll try something else once if the wear compromises my buoyancy, but I don't see that happening before it gets stolen or it blows away.

If you have a truck I'm assuming...back your tires until they touch the water. tailgate dropped and pull yak out. You shouldn't have to drag over the crete at all. Or back your truck to the dock and drag down the wood, much less abrasive.

I use a potting plant base and a bungy cord.
