Yay or nay? Raw or cooked? I have a GWP pup and my vet said no bones at all.

Dogs are carnivorous animals. We used to feed our dog raw chicken bones and all. No issues.

Raw is fine. Do not give your dog cooked bones. Also, what does your vet think wolves chewed on?

Raw bones. Cooked bones splinters inside them. Maybe wait until it gets older and use rawhide bones for now.

Raw, not cooked. Dog will be fine, raw frozen chicken wings are a great treat for him.

I wouldn't own a dog that couldn't eat a bone.

No bones.

Every vet has always told me this.

I figure if you can heal a critter that can't even tell you what's wrong, you are probably pretty smart.

Its not that they can't eat them, it's just that they can splinter and cause a problem.

Raw bones big enough for him not to swallow in one bite. You can get them from any butcher

Anyone here honestly think that if a dog in the wild caught a chicken or a rabbit that it would pick around the bones? I've seen a dog leave nothing but fur and a knawed rabbit skull, raw bones are not going to be a problem.

I stop by the slaughterhouse just down the road and pick up a feed sack full of raw beef bones for $2. My 4 month old puppy loves them.

I always gave my dog bones from steaks and ribs, no problems. Never chicken bones though.
