Had a 17 Nitro insured with Allstate... Claimed a small gellcoat damage when I hit a piece of concrete at the launch, cost about $300 to fix.. had to fight tooth and nail to get $50 from Allstate...

all about that liability son.

This.

Yes, never had to file a claim but it certainly gives peace of mind to have it.

I carry liability only on mine. If you finance a boat they will more than likely make you carry comprehensive coverage. I bought used and paid cash but i did inquire about comp coverage and the thought of paying $1700/yr on a 16 year old hull was not appealing. Liability only is just $130/yr.

that's why you don't get quotes from where you bought the boat.

Just went from a 20 year old Sprint to a new aluminum ranger. Didn't carry insurance on the Sprint but I will on the ranger, $40 month

but flat boats, is it a must.

I think it's only 190$ a year for the little boat, it covers some liability, theft, electronics, wrecks and towing so I can't see a reason not to have it. Oh yeah, 'canes too.

What do you do if someone hits your boat when you are trailering your boat or hit something and put a hole in it?
If I'm thinking of this right, liability only covers you if you mess up someone else's stuff?

It's not "high" because I'm covered pretty well but I wouldn't want it too much higher. My Premium actually just went up about $20.

Did you get my text with the boat pictures last night?
