I've had the same S&W 66-2 snub nose 357 in my center console for at least 10 years. I really need to look for a place to make it more accessible in case of an emergency.

A cheap S&W .22 in case I cross paths with varmint. I try not to put myself in a situation that I would need any of my higher powered weapons, but if the situation arises, this little pistol will put a few in 'em in a tight grouping.

Don't go anywhere around Nola or out of town for that matter without the .40 cal.

1911 on the list of to get.

Yea. Cheap .22 mag.

My truck's been broken into before but that was before I had the gun.

I have a gun safe in my console. They make them for any truck and they are a good investment.

Bad parts of town....it's always on me.

My truck has been broken into 3 times, but I don't leave my shite in there. My dad has had two guns stolen out of vehicles in the past, so he only keeps cheap ones in there now

I keep one on me at all times but bring it in at night and lock it up in my safe.

It amazes me so many CC. I never notice. I guess I'm just not that observant.

That's the whole point of concealed carrying

Granted, but I have some small pistols and I can always see them on my person. I'm sure there are lots of people that can tell if someone is packing, I just can't tell.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you need a concealed carry permit for a pistol that is in your truck. Your truck is considered an extension of your home.

So what do you do in the case of an emergency when you would actually need the gun in a split second? Take the keys out the ignition, find the right one to unlock safe, unlock the safe, retrieve the gun, unholster it, point and shoot?

It's probably a simpler process for normal people.

Had my .40 stolen out my truck round Christmas time. Currently looking for a better method to safely store one in there permanently. I hate to carry to and from the truck every time.

Not really. That entire process may only take about 5-7 seconds but what if you need a gun in 2 seconds? What if youre sitting at a red light and a guy walks up to your window and points a gun right at you? Im assuming the only way to make the most of that safe is to unlock it when you enter your vehicle and immediately grab the gun and store it another spot outside of the safe like you do in the door panel or between the seat and console while youre riding and then lock the gun back anytime you get out of the truck. I dont see anyone realistically doing that consistently.
