Absolutely. I keep mine between the drivers seat and center console. I may have to make adjustments soon since I have a one year old but it works for now.

I take it out every night. It's a pocket 380 so it's barely visible from the driver seat.

Wow...had this been the OT...someone would have called you racist.

To the OP: No. Only when I'm traveling. I would never leave a weapon in the vehicle unattended or less than I feel is safe (to me glass is not a barrier to a thief).

Right now I have an H&R .410, H&R 20 ga, Remington 30-06, and Ruger 357 in my truck. Its parked in my driveway, unlocked, keys in the ignition.

I keep mine in a holster that is fixed to at bar that is under the dashboard/console. It's just below knee level on my right side. You can not see it from anywhere but the drivers seat.

ETA: My truck is in a closed garage.

You see, I wouldnt consider this an option because all someone would have to do is just look inside your window and the gun would stick out like a sore thumb unless you can perhaps position the seat belt receiver in front of it. I like the mount below the steering wheel but that too seems like it would be easily visible

If I am in the truck.

I think long term storage of a gun in a truck is irresponsible.

I would never have a regular practice of leaving a weapon unattended in a vehicle overnight. It's like distributing guns to criminals. I personally don't want to arm a truck burglar so that they can come back to my truck, armed with my last gun, looking for a second or a third gun. That just makes it so that you will have to watch out for people breaking into your truck. How hard is it to just take the freaking gun inside at night? It's a good policy.

I understand the concern but my windows are tinted and I keep my truck locked at all times. I also have an alarm and live in a decent neighborhood...

constant movement and handling of the gun unnecessarily can be irresponsible as well.

Ehhhh, not sure that's a great retort. Pretty easy to take a holstered gun off a belt and put it somewhere safe, then put it on again.
