I go to the camp alot by myself, but I try to be very careful. I've gotten my truck stuck before while by myself 5 miles from camp. That's not a fun experience.

Today when I stuck the tractor, I just walked back to the camp, got my shovel and four wheeler and called my little brother to come help me. I got it out by the time he hit the camp road. I get pissed about everything, but today I just walked back and handled it. No big deal.

When you bury it on a pipeline while pulling a trailer a mile from the road before an impending monsoon, you learn to take less risks when alone

Not that anybody else would have helped anything.

Yeah, he's a tough old s.o.b., got a prosthesis and hasn't missed a lick. Here's a write-up on him from a couple of years ago:

I make a few midweek trips by myself, but make sure to mark our book and texts wife and dad after hunts.

A lot of shite can happen between ATVs, darkness, mud, ice, and ladders.

I hunt solo once in a while. I now have a 10 year old and it's pretty nice when it's just the 2 of us.

If I had one I would. Nothing better to help clear your head than being out in nature by yourself.

75% of the time during deer season

95% of the time during turkey season

Now that I have a family I usually tell my pop or brother via text where I plan on hunting, or at least where I start hunting from. My job and life are pretty stressful. I don't get to relax very often. If I can go to the camp from daylight to dark and not have to talk to anyone or see anyone else all day, it helps me stay alive. I would be a miserable human without days alone in the woods.

And by "relax" in the woods, I mean killing a whole bunch of shite.

95% of the time I woodcock hunt alone. Just me and the dogs. I enjoy hunting with people and alone, but many times others are more interested in their favorite forms of hunting than mine and I mainly hunt during the week. Combine that and I am normally alone with the dogs. With that being said, I enjoy the piece and quiet of me and the dogs in the woods...

Probably worse I was at our club in the middle of bum frick delta putting up stands with my 11 year old. No cell coverage trying to strap a stand on a tree on a ladder on big red. I need a plan but not sure what it is yet.

I do my best hunting on solo trips. Can't seem to get a late night poker game/whiskey drinking contest started by myself.
