Parents just got a camp on Toledo Bend. Fishing last weekend the fish finder was showing activity in some of the 30 ft and deeper areas, below balls of shad. What kind of jigs or deep diving crank baits have y'all had luck with in similar conditions? We had a Carolina Rig and a crank bait that got down to about 20 feet. Rig didn't work and the crank bait wasn't getting deep enough.

Rinky Dink, or similar tail spinner. I like the ones that you run the line completely through the bait and tie directly onto the table hook. I've caught bass out to 40' on Fork on it. There's a good chance you're seeing schools of sand bass out there too, but the blacks will mix in with them.

Drop shot, deep diving crankbait, football jig, and big shaky head.

We see them all the time at that depth.
It drives me crazy my buddy never wants to try to catch them.
I was thinking a big jig or a spoon.
