Not a bow or crossbow hunter. I am looking to get a gift of a crossbow for a hunter thst is new to crossbow hunting located in Kansas.

Any brands or models? Thanks a bunch.

I realize the walking dead tv show has probably made this entirely too popular and trendy but ce la vie.

Kansas

Kansas is good for crossbow hunters, but I bet he ends up moving South to Oklahoma or East to Missouri after he starts shooting it.

Why don't you just pay to get his wheelchair painted camo and let him pick out his own crossbow?

Your friend Bruce Jenner already has one. I read it on his blog.

Don't let these guys get to you. I for one think the gays taking interest is good for hunting.

Opening crossbow hunts to everyone ruined archery season.

I really foresee this person using it for backyard shenanigans more than hunting.

You can pick up a cheap backyard toy from amazon for about $100. Search 150 lbs hunting crossbow. If your "friend", wanted to use it for hunting you need to factor in cost. Look for speed, foot lbs of energy & bow weight. Barnett makes some good ones at a lower cost, but they will be heavy. They also make a attachment wench for the handicapped hunter who can't pull a 150lbs string. All kidding aside, I have a barnett quad 400 that I use for ground stalking that will zip a white tail deer and the bolt keeps going like it cut through butter.

Prepare for all the OB guys who jump out of their stands and stab deer with a homemade knife. They love to chastise cross bow hunters because they hunt like Indians.

All kidding aside I've tried for the last several years to get my dad to buy a crossbow. There's zero chance of him buying a compound and I'd love to have him be able to join me during bow season and that would be my best bet of getting him out there
