That's not the way a 'dillo digs. Dillos dig more of a hole like a squirrel rather than scratching along the surface.

But the poo does look like dillo crap. (too small for possum crap)

The area looks just like it was scratched up by a chicken.

Man, I'm stumped. Keep us posted. I'm curious.

I'm sure there may be a few.

Whatever it is will have free reign for the weekend while i'm out of town, but when I return I'll setup a camera and buy a trap. Hopefully I'll have a little grass left by then.

This is it.

Dillo's like to dig down, which isn't like your problem.

Black panther. Or armadillo. Either one could pose its own brand of challenges and issues.

Wrong kind of shite and digging for an armadillo. We don't have nutria up here, so I'm going to have to assume it was a black panther.

I know there are black panthers living in Bessemer, Alabama, but I don't think they would go and scratch some grass in somebody's yard. They would be too busy plotting scenarios against The Man!

My friend you have an opossum

you may have a healthy population of worms, or something that is fixin' to tear up your grass, of which the opossum is feeding on.

I'm agreeing with hardhead on this one. Looks like an opossum to me as well. You probably gonna have a healthy crop of bugs (june bugs etc) soon...they're probably tearing up the grubs right now.
