Has anyone caught anything along I59 in the Pearl River area? Wanted to bring my son to try it out.

Nope. Not a one, no crawfish in the Pearl River. Move it along elsewhere please.

There are plenty of crawfish in there; it needs to warm up though. Most people go south of I-10. Bring a pirogue.

Yes. Cottonmouths. Lots of them. And big.

Some friends and I who work at Stennis got real close to doing it off I-10, since we always see trucks on both sides and we love crawfish.

Talked to a few fellas who do it and they say you have to have a ‘poking stick’. OK cool, what’s that? A stick to poke all the snakes away from the pirogue you’re filling up. Lots of snakes?..shite tons. Made the cost of crawfish seem much more palatable.
