When should the crabs turn on? I'm itching to take the kids out to do some crabbing, but have been told its 'too early' in the season.

I've had success this time of year at Rockefeller. I don't know if all the rain would impact that area so may just have to go and find out. The best trip I ever had there was when a front moved through and it was about 40 degrees and drizzling. All the big crabs just came and sat on the metal drains and we scooped them up. We were the only people out there that day.
