Costas glass color question

Seems like most guys go with blue or green mirror. I see on their website they recommend the silver mirror for freshwater fishing/streams/rivers. Anything to this or are they all about the same?

I have two pair for bright, sunny days or cloudy/hazy days. IMO, the quality of the lens is more important than lens color. mine are 580P lens.
also, I don't believe costas are of the same quality as they were in the past. I will not buy another pair.

I have a blue and a green so I can't speak of the silver. The Amber/green lenses give you more light and are generally thought of for inshore fishing, grey/blue for offshore.
I wear both for driving or knocking around, based on the type of day, sunny gets blue and cloudy/rainy gets greens

I prefer the green lens over blue. They seem to cut the glare and kind of "brighten" things up(if that makes sense). I find the blue just darkens everything.

Amber base lenses for fresh and brackish waters and 580 series.

I kind of want some different lenses for early in the morning before the sun gets up good. Mine are green mirror. I have been scoping out the silver ones lately.

I have two pair of the green mirror, one pair are old 400g and a new pair that are 580g. Also, have a pair of blue 580g.
As others have said. Blue (grey lens) are for offshore and are much darker. Green (amber lens) are inshore/fresh water.
Not familiar with the silver mirror so I can't say anything there.

I have some 580G in silver mirror that I got right when costa started offering the silver mirror lenses. They're great for inshore fishing.
I recently got a pair of Maui Jims so I'm interested to compare the two on the water. The costas actually seem like a better quality lens out and around town, they seem to have better vibrance and contrast. Like I said though, these are old costas. I've read that the quality has diminished recently. These MJs are light as a feather though and more comfortable for all day wear, and they fit better under a tilley hat

A blue mirror has a gray lens and a green mirror has an amber lens. I say green mirror 580G all day long.
