My brother was down in Exuma recently and was hanging out at the Chat n Chill and was talking to a guy that was telling him about his fishing boat. He said the guy told him that the windows in the boat were custom made by Costa Del Mar out of 580 glass. Has anyone here ever heard of Costa doing that before? He said he went on the boat and it was amazing looking out through the cabin. I asked him what kind of boat it was and he wasn’t real sure but thought it was a Rybovich. The boat was out of Bay St Louis MS.

Isn't that a poly material? If so not sure it will hold up very long in a boat application

Kind of what I thought but that is a very strange thing to make up. I mean your sitting there on a million dollar boat why throw something like that out there if it wasn’t true.

Every 580G I owned I cracked the lenses easy enough for me to not want that on boat glass.

If your glasses had been 3/8” think they probably wouldn’t have cracked. Just a guess. I would assume that it was mainly about the technology of blocking the yellow light at the 580 nm range.

What? lol

The shite some of you guys make up because of brands is hilarious. I’ve owned and wore them all enough. This is ridiculous thing to say about any of the better sunglasses made from glass.

I don’t know OP. I guess if you have money to blow why now, but you don’t really look for fish inside of boat so I don’t see the point? Fish are spotted outside

Flex on the poors. Duh. Have you ever even had a boat? It's all about flexing.

You only wear yours while you are fishing? Hell I wear mine in the rain while I’m driving. Seems to me it would be pretty bad arse to have your windows made out of it. He is probably just bad at keeping up with his glasses so that was his fix.

Judging by the price of the glasses I have bought from them I cant imagine what they would charge for that.

Sounds pretty awesome. Perhaps he purchased the mirror film and applied to the boat glass like a tint film on a car? Did your bud catch a name on the boat?
