I still use a smaller Gott my dad has to fish. It fits in the boat perfect. The thing is probably damn near as old as I am. the white plastic on the outside is falling apart but otherwise it's still going strong.

I remember the story. That sucks for him. Did he ever get rid of the smell?

Check out Polar Bear coolers ! Love them for drinks, etc. For a fish box, it doesn't really matter as most of us are never out so long that it matters.

Wheels on icechest and boats just don't go together. Thats like bring bottle beer on a boat. One just doesn't do that unless you are one that throws crap overboard.

When you've got to get it 150 yards to your slip while carrying everything else, and it fits in the slot going into the cabin securely even with the boat heeled 30 degrees and everything else in the cabin flying around, I'll roll that bad boy with a rainbow umbrella and nipple clamps on if I have to.

I'm the captain, so I'm also drinking whatever I want and I might hand you the trash bag to take with you when we get back.

I have two Igloos and a yeti 65. The igloos can hold ice a long time as long as you cool the cooler down the night before.....I find using frozen water bottles really helps with ice retention.

My yeti is a specific purpose cooler.....fishing and hunting when away for a while....it was a gift and i like it.....not sure I would have ever purchased one for myself. It is a heavy sob when loaded down with beer and ice.

The yeti will do no better at ice retention if cracking it open for beer all day. If you go to the camp and need it for deer/trout/reds etc.....then it is your cooler.

Mung has a good cooler/fish story.

I know this. If you leave one fish in the livewell, it's best to just open all lids and let nature run its course. Damn that was bad.

i love my yeti (got the LSU 75 qt) but it is certainly not necessary for everyday inshore use. if you're fishing offshore, need to keep ice several days, or just want to show off they can't be beat

Coleman Extreme had more ice in it after 8 days than the Yeti.

I've got a marine that I like but I really want a yeti. I don't need a yeti but I'd like to make it look awesome with some stickers.
